Info
The new Eddison Park Disc Golf Course is now fully playable! The course now has a total of 18 baskets, and an additional practice basket. The new layout includes turf tee-pads, marked 10m circles and full signage. The start of the course now plays from the main parking area adjacent to the skatepark, although you can still start from the cemetery parking lot which is now hole 9.
This historic ACT based disc golf course has been in the ground since 1997. It was one of the first permanent basket course installations in Australia, originally designed by local disc golfer, Greg Sparksman.
The park has seen some significant changes in it’s time, including the addition of the adjacent skate park, upgraded path networks, fitness equipment installations, and a re-design of the original course layout, due to an expansion of the nearby cemetery. All of these changes have impacted the course, creating various iterations over the years.
After a successful 2019 Capital Assistance Program grant from ACT Sports and Recreation, the ACT Disc Golf Club was able to upgrade the course into a moderate 18 hole layout. The first 8 holes are new, and the back part of the course contains many of Eddison’s “classic” holes (or modified to play in a similar way) such as 10, 11, 13, 14, 17 & 18.

•ProsGreat classic course with very solid baskets. Mostly flat with challenging clusters of trees throughout the park.

•ProsGreat layout and great use of the full park. Lots of variety in shots needed and wide range of pars
ConsBaskets are older and hand made. No clear signage as to where the tee is or where the next hole is, how long, par etc. Needed to use google maps to find where it was all laid out

•ProsGood variety of holes requiring a wide array of throws. Beautiful trees!
ConsRather confusing layout with multiple crossovers. No signage, older baskets. Some holes play over or near other park equipment or over the road leading to other park user safety concerns.

•ProsGood holes with a variety of challenges. I feel like this course would really help improve your game.
ConsLayout makes little sense the first few times around. Ground markers and no signage make it harder still. Once you work it out, it's alright.

•ProsGood layout, variety of holes, some elevation changes
ConsOlder baskets but do the job, no tee signs, no real standout hole.

•ProsGreat variety of throws and holes. A nice all around course to regularly practice on, will improve your game.
ConsHeavy chains on homemade baskets create some extra spitouts, no signage and poorly marked, crossing fairways. Could use a facelift and could be a top caliber course.

•ProsGood variety of holes which requires a good range of different throws.
ConsNubs on baskets, not many signs which makes it hard to navigate

•ProsGreat course that has a bit of everything.
ConsMore than a few times I’ve seen people wandering around with discs totally unable to follow the course due to a lack of signage. I believe a new course with signage will be going in soon.
