The Mathison Park Disc Golf Course is a moderate difficulty 18-hole course featuring RAD Ace V2 Targets with concrete tees. The course spans 3.5km (1562m total) through hilly, undulating terrain with an estimated playing time of 1h 30m. Established in 2025 following a two-year development project, the course weaves through the beautiful landscape surrounding Lake Hyland in Churchill.

Designed by Andrew Ferguson after thorough site assessment across the Latrobe City Council area, the course cleverly utilizes natural features including dense eucalypts, open parkland, and strategic elevation changes to ensure no two holes feel the same. The layout offers two par ratings: Amateur Par 59 and Advanced Par 54, allowing players to set personal goals and track progression. A Quick Nine Loop (holes 1-6, 11-12, 18) is available for abbreviated rounds.

Located in a public park with full wheelchair accessibility (all holes accessible), the course is mixed use, dog-friendly, cart-friendly, and stroller-friendly. Restroom facilities and drinking water available. Disc hire available at Latrobe Leisure Churchill (Cnr Northways Rd and McDonald Way) during business hours.

Free to play. Developed in collaboration with Latrobe City Council and VicHealth, with ongoing support from the Friends of Mathison Park volunteer group. Reviewers praise excellent tee pads, signage, and baskets, with lots of fun ace run holes, great shot variety suitable for all abilities, and beautiful scenic views around the lake.
